Why HIVE?

Like many of you here on Hive, I am not just a "user" of Hive but a content creator who takes the time to write an article daily.

I may have not written any article that has anything to do with Hive directly or even with cryptocurrencies. Rather, I write about precious metals, cooking, travel, and everyday ordinary life stuff.

Content creators like myself provide a VITAL role of attracting average users of social media to Hive through articles of common interest to many readers. As a result, Hive has a large base of engaged users, which in turn make Hive the ideal ecosystem for 2nd layer apps.

So what does Hive offer me as an individual? Hive is a social media platform which it is, really. So in addition to the benefits that I receive in using (any) social media platforms (such as the ability to share my journey and passion for precious metals, cooking and travel, and developing worldwide friendships with others who are in social media), for me personally and as an individual who in practice is entrenched in making and saving value, Hive offers a bright future!

Simply put: Hive offers the greatest potential of attracting developers of 2nd layer apps and Hive is the most ideal ecosystem for 2nd layer apps, which in turn benefits the entire blockchain and its users.

I guess this is the reason why I love using this banner at the end of most of my articles:

You see, Hive is a social media platform and a blockchain. The key is building community. The ordinary way to do this is by writing articles and engagement through comments, replies, and upvotes. I am proud to say that these are the activities in Hive which I do every day.

Then I leave everything else to developers, investors and regular users of Hive.

We all stand to benefit... so... let us do this!!!

I am much like you in that I am a content creator and not a developer for Hive, but what better place is there than Hive to create content and earn as you go. I don't know of any other platform that is as well rounded and has the potential that Hive has.

As a fairly new person here, what strikes me most is that there are a lot of people on Hive who want to use it the way people use other social media first, and the crypto stuff is extra to that. People like to share their interests and find like-minded people to go 'hey, you like that too? So do I!' and share knowledge, compare stories. People are all about stories, right. It's very cool that we can do that here.

I became a member of Hive a few days ago and it has become a very interesting journey for me since then. I have been on various blogging platforms and I haven't seen any that has a significant level of engagement and reward system like hive. Completely agree with you. But I have faced one issue and that is dealing with new users. I onboarded some of my friends but they left eventually because they don't understand how hive works. For the long term, Hive is one of the best platforms in terms of creation and building...

I posted and nobody came. I abandoned the idea... like swimming in the vast seas with nothing in there.
I came back after three months, and stayed on it.

Other than sharing my passions in an open social setting is learning about Hive itself as a dynamic living entity and at the same time a blank canvas to practice the art of writing and self expression. An up close examination reveling a tapestry of thousands of individuals, like brush strokes, each with their own passions, style and interests expressing themselves on a platform in itself as a constant evolving symbiosis to improve and better itself.
I am just amazed with this platform, the potential is limitless, there is nothing that comes close to it. All I need to do is to try and keep up. 🤗🌺❤️
