so I am down to using keplr wallet, base.app & a keystore for all my crypto now.

I have been using keplr for years and love it, the keystore is great for interacting with leodex & shapeshift (primarily LeoDex)
I am new to base.app (formerly coinbase wallet) but when I am out interacting with normies at game dev and other conferences it is the main wallet used by them so getting things to work with it are a priority for me.

After working with trying to get my surge weekly payouts it looks like their implementation is a bit different than a standard wallet as they use a smart contract system for their wallet.

the pro to this is I have my name simplegame.cb.id in the wallet so other uses can just text me crypto to my name and they don't need a wallet address

the con is the rest of the industry sees it as a contract address not a wallet address.

very interesting times.

Yeah the contract address thing is interesting. I wasn't aware that's how it worked

So you can receive crypto to that address like any other crypto and its spendable (not lost)?

The rest of the industry will need to catch up on that as in most EVM implementations I've seen, contracts are auto-ignored as it usually results in a loss of funds

yep. it goes to that address and is spendable.

It is direction coinbase is taking to allow for advanced functions like "text crypto to me with my name" etc.... that "normies" want.

Phantom also has that kinda system. Anyone can send assets using Phantom to @degenie address and I will receive those funds 🙂👍

agreed. it is not unique to base.app
it is the future for sure.

Definitely, and like you said, retail is gonna like that.
