web3 gaming and gaming on Blockchain is a failure of marketing and execution.
GameFi was also just hype.

Real gaming utilizing blockchain tech will be true Human Readable digital ownership recorded on feeless blockchains providing the normal gaming experience everyone has grown up with and hiding the "tech"

In the future the name this will be given will be "gaming" just plain old gaming.

When?????? LOL

Looking forward to what you have cooking.

Trying really hard to hit the Jan 31st date.
That is why i have not been as active as i would like to be.

Agreed. Too much hype. And promising people "free money" to participate draws a flighty crowd... and when all the emphasis is on the money and "fi" end of the equation, the quality of the gameplay experience tends to be neglected... and then the gaming itself lacks "stickiness."

This is the truth. When I saved Holybread from the rugpull and eliminated the Layer 2 tokens. I got hate from players saying "I invested in this project"
just a bad experience all around.

Games need to be games. Not try and be financial instruments.

Wow! Holybread... there's a name I haven't heard in an age and a half.

Games are games. Maybe the financial angle can work if there are purely financing/investment tokens that operate autonomously from game tokens and gameplay... and the only purpose they have it to help underwrite development and infrastructure. And they lock up invested tokens for a set time period... six months, a year, or whatever.

yeah not really in the USA. that violates SEC rulings.
And even if you are not in the USA if any US citizen is able to get a token you will be on the SEC radar.

You have to use a layer 1 token but it can not be used as an in-game currency.
The in-game currency and issuing tokens for fund raising are the issue.

And when you get into game design they are not needed.

If you want to underwrite development and infrastructure you need to file as a security with the SEC and you can not promise any APR or returns or you violate other law.

There are quite a few projects walking a fine line right now.
Hope the spotlight does not find them.

So it is best to retire the old view of what gaming of the future will be and welcome the new way.

Thanks for the explanation. Game design and tokenomics/law as applied to it is really outside my wheelhouse.

It certainly is a new frontier we are walking here.

True. It is a new frontier.
and bringing the old world with the new world is always a challenge until the new world replaces the old world.

We are in that transition stage right now.

That makes sense to me.
