in the game industry we always say your game no longer belongs to you once you release it to the world.

It takes on a life bigger than you.
Your job is to nurture it in the direction the world takes it.

I have discovered other creative industries feel the same way.

The easiest way to destroy a game or community is to not adhere to this principle
