Rings of Power season 3 is Prime Video's last real shot at winning the streaming wars after seasons 1 and 2 did not hit like Amazon expected, this show was supposed to be the next Game of Thrones but instead it has been sitting in House of the Dragon's shadow since both premiered around the same time back in 2022, thing is House of the Dragon season 3 is dropping summer 2026 and Rings of Power probably will not come until late 2026 or later so for once they will not be competing directly, this could be great for Rings of Power if fans are looking for fantasy content after House of the Dragon wraps or it could be even worse if the gap between seasons kills the momentum, either way if viewership does not improve Prime Video might have to accept they are not dominating streaming anytime soon.
