If they split it into two movies it will make twice as much as having it just in one movie. Plus, I'm sure its all filmed at the same time so it's cheaper to make than two completely separate big budget movies.
That's how 2 of the Hnger Games sequels were made. It's also how The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions were made: as one movie. Then there are the Avatar sequels.

I had that idea too when there is so much Hype about Secret Wars, Thanos is suppose to come back but they need another villain with higher profile in the story now that Thanos is without army or stones
