In the fascinating realm of Digital Numismatics, a recent development has captivated those intrigued by the concept of digital scarcity—a topic as elusive as it is revolutionary. Just a few days ago, an event known as the Bitcoin Halving occurred. This event, which happens every four years, methodically reduces the number of new Bitcoins entering circulation and is scheduled to continue until around 2136 AD when the final 64th halving takes place and the final Satoshi ends the circulation of Bitcoin in approximately 2140 AD.

In this digital age, one Bitcoin, divisible into 100,000,000 smaller units known as Satoshis. During each Halving, a unique Satoshi is created—the first of its kind for that event. To date, only four such Satoshis exist from these halvings, with the most epic first ever Satoshi (1 of 1) residing in the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto’s dormant wallet.

The spotlight recently shone on the ViaBTC mining pool, which on April 20th, mined a block that included the latest of these rare Satoshis—the fourth Halving event first Satoshi.

Astoundingly, this single Satoshi fetched 33.3 BTC at auction, approximately $2.9 million Canadian, making it a historic moment as it was part of Bitcoin block #840,000, now the most valuable Bitcoin block ever recorded.

This extraordinary valuation starkly contrasts with the current worth of a regular Satoshi, which stands at merely .00065 cents.

If each Satoshi of that particular Bitcoin (100 million Satoshis) in block #840,000 were to be as highly valued as this singular, epic rarity Satoshi, the total Bitcoin value would hypothetically reach an astronomical 333 million Bitcoin—a figure 15.9 times greater than the total number of Bitcoin that will ever exist.
This marks a milestone event in the history of digital currency.
