Spinvest-leo weekly update post - 30 December 2023

in LeoFinance4 months ago

Welcome to this weeks update from the @spinvest-leo account. This wallet manages a small portion of the overall @spinvest fund, and sends HIVE back to @spinvest each week to contribute to the pool of funds for dividends. This wallet is managed by @jk6276. The main focus of this account is to generate yield to contribute to the weekly dividends for holders of SPI tokens. 50% of the income generated each week is sent to @spinvest to contribute to the weekly dividend. Primary holdings are positions in SPS liquidity pools, other BeeSwap pools, along with some Hive engine based investments.

Position changes this week:

There was no update post last week, given the busy Christmas period I simply dropped the numbers in Discord. After the update two weeks ago, I made a few changes.

  • Closed out the BXT/HIVE pool.
  • Staked the BXT, plus a little more I bought to get a total stake of 1500 BXT.
  • Used the HIVE in the HIVE/ZING pool.
  • Removed some from SPS/HIVE, and added that also to ZING pool.

I did make a post outlining the thinking here, but the TLDR is that its a yield chasing move. The ZING pool is printing high yields, and I wanted to boost or income. Simple.

The move has worked so far, and dividend funds sent are well up on where they were two weeks ago.

Current holdings:

  • SPS/BNB pool - $1534 - up $148

  • SPS/HIVE pool - $581 - up $22

  • SPS/ETH pool - $1564 - up $49

  • SIM/HIVE pool - $554 - up $27

  • BXT/HIVE pool - $0 - closed for now

  • ZING/HIVE pool - $558 - up $27

  • Staked BXT - $820 - up $139

  • Staked LEO - $15 - up $1

  • HIVE Power - $324 - up $6

  • Miscellaneous - $75 - up $2
    (vexPOLYCUB, liquid ETH & BNB)

Asset exposure

Using the above values, and splitting pool positions into their components, we can calculate the total exposure to each asset for this wallet.

  • SPS - $1840 - 30.53%

  • BNB - $775 - 12.86%

  • ETH - $819 - 13.59%

  • HIVE - $1171 - 19.43%

  • SIM - $277 - 4.6%

  • BXT - $820 - 13.61%

  • ZING - $279 - 4.63%

  • LEO - $15 - 0.25%

  • vexPOLYCUB - $30 - 0.50%

Commentary:

The last two weeks have been excellent. Yield is massively up, and asset values are increasing also. If you look at the update from two weeks ago you can see that we are up over $600 in value from then, while having nearly doubled the funds sent for dividends. Just 3 or 4 weeks ago we were sending 40 HIVE, this week it is over 80.

The beauty of higher yield is that it gives me more funds each day to compound, which at the moment I do into whichever HIVE pool is lower in value at the time. Over the last week that has mainly been the SIM pool, but it means that we are compounding in to the asset that has not been performing so great, building the exposure for when (and if) is recovers. The BXT position was built this way, and it is now a solid asset on the balance sheet.

I will most likely look at re-entering the BXT pool, and split the compounding between rebuilding it, and whichever pool needs a top up. I currently have over 10 HIVE per day, liquid to re-invest. Might as well take advantage of it till the ZING pool yield drops of, as it inevitably will.

All in all, a good couple of week, we have ticked up over $6000 asset value, and sent over 80 HIVE for the dividend this week. Happy days.

Totals and conclusion:

  • Total asset value last week: $5604
  • Total asset value this week: $6025
  • Weekly gain/loss: up $421

80.636 HIVE sent to @spinvest for weekly dividends. This is up just over 10 HIVE on last week, and 32.233 better than two weeks ago.

Thanks for taking the time to read our weekly update. If you would like to learn more about @spinvest, and the $SPI token, check out the main account and review the weekly update post.

Happy New Year.
