Sometimes the US just can't get out of its own way! If they would become the wild wild west of crypto and put no taxes on crypto they would have every crypto company and exchange in the world clamoring to do business here. Heck they could even just tax any crypto business 1% and probably still get lots of action especially if they accepted the taxes in crypto :-)
Banks would all get into crypto. Businesses would all get into crypto. There would be an explosion of developers for crypto in the US. Etc.Etc.
They never learn that prohibition never works. Gotta have their war on everything when they could just encourage it and tax it. The finally learned with alcohol. They do it with tobacco. They do it with gambling (although they overreach on the taxes with all of those). Eventually people will cheat on the taxes, but the follow-on effects from being the center of the crypto universe would put them in the catbird seat.
