It's okay to work for others provided you're leveling up skills and connections by doing so. First, part of career is basically this. I'd probably put it ahead of getting a bigger bag for the first few years.
I certainly agree with that, but work to escape that should start early on in life rather than later :-)
Like any addiction, the second best time to get on the road to recovery is now.
