Yes! My intention is to understand the basics first and then work on a project to gain experience. I'm also going to take a programming course to delve deeper into the area and I'm going to try to do this in parallel with my college studies. I hope to be ready soon!

Good luck! One of my kids did Comp. Science. Basically had to force them to finish college because they said they didn't need it. They were partly correct. Main thing employers care about is your ability, but degree does help as a demonstration of persistence I guess.
