It makes me laugh when politicians toss around terms like Marxist and communist. Do they really know what those mean? Most democracies have elements of socialism. Pure capitalism would be brutal and mainly benefits the rich.

Exactly and very rightly so. Just for the sake of politics they can say anything without knowing it in depth. Almost every system has something good and something bad. Nothing is perfect.

Any sort of extremism in politics tends to be bad, but this is just name-calling. It shows a lack of character.
Yes probably there is some need for regulations and interventions from government. But also remember that once you give up something to politicians they tend to not wanna retract that power.
All systems of government are imperfect and so are the people involved, but they are just people. I would not say they are all bad. Such generalisations are not helpful.
Ofc, and the problem is that power corrupts people. Thats why I have been convinced that we need to limit the power to politicians.
In most cases their power is limited in specific ways and we need to be wary if they try to change the limits.
People also get corrupted by wealth and other circumstances with less limits. As I said, they are imperfect, but many want to do good.
If we believe in this then we should build a society that imcentives these behaviours. I see so many destructive policies being drafted all over the world right now.
Easier said than done. Politics has many forces operating on it with big companies having a lot of influence. Governments are meant to work in the interests of the people. I don't believe that all billionaires have our best interests at heart.
100% true and they might actually be more dangerous for society than politicians if they want to because we can never "vote them out".
