The last time I had taken a look at this index was November 11, 2020. On that day the S&P 500 was at 3500 points and there was still TRUMP in office as President of the United States. Today the S&P 500 is worth 3950 points. This past week the value of the index went from 3850 points to 3940. In a December article by CNBC you could read that some Wall Street analysts predicted that in 2021 the S & P 500 could rise as high as 4,000 points and that is exactly what happened. Right now the S&P 500 is in a good period where it practically updates all-time highs very often. At the end of February 2020, just before the outbreak of the pandemic, the S&P 500 was at 3380 points then collapsed to 2300. In August 2020 however it had already updated its high at 3500 and from there on it continued its uptrend updating the highs until today. Perhaps we can say that the first support today is at 3,810. 4,000 points are in the crosshairs. In my opinion I think that during this 2021 to 4,000 points will get there. I had seen even more bullish forecasts in 2020 that saw the S&P 500 at 4250/4500, but I did not pay attention because at the time they seemed unrealistic.
[IT] - Considerazioni personali
L'ultima volta che avevo dato un’occhiata a questo indice era l’11 Novembre del 2020. Quel giorno l’S&P 500 era a 3500 punti e c’era ancora TRUMP in carica come presidente degli Stati Uniti. Oggi l’S&P 500 vale 3950 punti. In quest'ultima settimana il valore dell’indice è passato da 3850 punti a 3940. In un articolo di Dicembre della CNBC si poteva leggere che alcuni analisti di Wall Street prevedono che nel 2021 l'S & P 500 poteva salire fino a 4.000 punti e le cose sono andate proprio così. In questo momento l’S&P 500 è in un periodo buono dove aggiorna praticamente i massimi di sempre molto spesso. A fine Febbraio 2020, poco prima dello scoppio della pandemia, l’S&P 500 era a 3380 punti poi crollò fino a 2300. Ad Agosto 2020 però aveva già aggiornato il suo massimo a 3500 e da li in poi ha continuato il suo uptrend aggiornando i massimi fino ad oggi. Forse possiamo dire che il primo supporto oggi si trova a 3.810. I 4.000 punti sono nel mirino. A mio avviso credo che durante questo 2021 a 4.000 punti ci arriverà. Avevo visto durante il 2020 delle previsione ancora più rialziste che vedevano nel un S&P 500 a 4250/4500, ma non ci feci caso perché a suo tempo mi sembravano poco realistiche.
