At the time when I join Leofinance I had no idea what is the word HIVE meaning for, I saw most of the trending blogger's post talks about Hive. I asked myself what is this? I think maybe these people here talk about the home of bees? Hahaha, am fun. But after reading a few posts I start to get an idea about what they talk about, ahaaa! They talk about something which is part of this modern technology, blockchain technology.
But, I become more interested and start to dig deep on posts to post of different bloggers and sometimes using google to gather more detail about HIVE. I know many people around here are like me as was before.
So if it’s your first time to hear about HIVE and maybe you do not know anything about it please continue to read this article and I hope you will get something from what I know about HIVE.
HIVE; what is this?
The HIVE blockchain was launched in March 2014 as a community fork from the STEEM blockchain, where STEEM blockchain is a social blockchain that grows communities and makes immediate revenue streams possible for users by rewarding them for sharing content. The goal of HIVE blockchain is to reinforce the ideals of decentralization.
Another meaning from HIVE.io explains that HIVE is an innovative and forward-looking decentralized blockchain and ecosystem, designed to scale with the widespread adoption of the currency in mind. By combining the lightning-fast processing time and fee-less transactions, HIVE is positioned to become one of the leading Web 3.0 blockchains used around the world. But Web 3.0 blockchain, this is the third generation of internet services for websites and applications that will focus on using a machine-based understanding of data to provide a data-driven and semantic web. It is also known as the Semantic web.
HIVE Dapps.
When you come across HIVE community you will find much decentralized application generated from HIVE blockchain. By definition for those who do not know Dapps, these are computer applications that run on a distributed computing system. For may little research on HIVE dapps I found that there more than 30 Dapps that have been generated from HIVE blockchain.

Hive blog.
Hive blog is the community Interface for Hive or is a space for people of all races, genders, religions, sexual orientations, and levels of education to share their stories, it launched March 23 2020.
Leofinance.
The same as the HIVE blog, Leofinance is a community for crypto & financial content and is a social platform where users get paid for creating, upvoting and interacting with crypto and finance content. It is Submitted on Apr 25th, 2020.
DTube.
Dtube is submitted on Dec 17th, 2018, and this is a fully decentralized open-source video platform. Where Videos can be uploaded through popular decentralized techs such as IPFS, BTFS, or Skynet, then published on social blockchains such as Hive, Steem or Avalon, which enables users to earn cryptocurrency rewards for their video creations.
Actifit.
This Dapp incentivizes a healthy & fit lifestyle by rewarding people for auto-tracking their daily activity. Walking, running, doing house chores or any activity during the day gets rewarded on Actifit via reaching a minimum of 5,000 moves during the day. This is social media platform built on top of HIVE Blockchain, immutable, decentralized, rewarding communities. This launched on Jul 23rd, 2020.
PeakD.
This launched in 2020 as a version of SteemPeak.com on the HIVE blockchain-centred on integrating Hive and many other blockchains. The Peak projects began with SteemPeak.com in early 2018.
Splinterlands.
This is a collectable trading multiplayer card game with a design that will make you think of a symbiosis between pokemon card games and World of Warcraft characters. The game has developed storytelling based on a mystical world. Built on the Hive Blockchain to offer fast transactions and full transparency. Get in the game, conquer a world or solve quests.
LeoDex.
This is an alternative interface to the Hive-Engine exchange. It is operated by the LeoFinance community and provides a faster and more intuitive experience to the Hive-Engine exchange and token ops. LeoDex is constantly adding new features at the request of our community and the goal is always to provide the best possible user experience for Hive-Engine tokens and operations.
EXODE.
This is a browser game powered by the HIVE blockchain. It places players in control of a ship, a crew, resources and passengers, all represented by NFTs; and allows them to settles colonies and establish trade and colonization in a new galaxy. In eXode players are fleeing a global alien threat and are trying to survive. Players will be able to purchase and sell packs, cards, resources, citizens, designs and new resources.
CryptoBrewmaster.
A beer brewing game from craft beer enthusiasts. Brew beer from different ingredients, trade the beer, upgrade your brewery with collectable cards, evolve the character, and have fun!
