The team hasn't said anything but the old UI on mobile uses 'imgur .com' to host images (while desktop uses 'hive .blog'.)
And if you have the toggle set to hide links on the new UI, then it thinks imgur images are links, so hides them.

The toggle to hide links is a good idea in theory, but it isn't usable in reality.

The toggle to hide links just gives the reader a chance to filter the feed.
Nobody is taking away another's ability to post.
OK, I get that, not censorship. It is hiding threads without links at the moment, which is not good imo. Makes me wonder what I've missed by having that switch toggled. I guess you have to try things to see if they are good or not. #not
