Right. It could be the magnitude of the crime that warranted such a punishment and also serving as an example for the rest to deter them from doing something even similar

Yeah, the scale of it probably played a huge role. Plus, with high-profile folks involved, they likely wanted to send a strong message to prevent others from trying the same thing. Makes sense as a deterrent
