I had some recovery for about six months, but nothing noticeable after. It changed me a lot and has impacted heavily on my personality and temperament, and I understand why the suicide rate for stroke patients is so high.
Each case is different though, due to the complexity of the brain, so it isn't possible to really "compare", but there are different severities and what part of the brain is affected will have larger or lesser impacts.
Sorry to hear about your strokes too - they suck and are scary on so many levels.
