We are seeing a lot of technological change that is going to usher in the abundance economy in the next two decades. While this will be a phase in process, we will be operating completely different by 2040.
In this video I discuss how some of the vital components of our economy is facing massive transition. We are going to see abundance created in many fields, such that it allows for resources to be focused elsewhere. All of this will move us away from scarcity.

I do agree that there will be a point in which we don't need any more cars. Do you think the focus will be on space instead then? I think they might try changing ships or even planes into electric first.

I am not saying that the focus from cars means necessarily into space. That was just an example.
Certainly there will be a lot of things that people turn to and develop in the future.
The difference is space is actually new stuff where the EV is replacing ICE vehicles.
