If we are going to compare ourselves to something, might as well do it to the big dog on the block. In cryptocurrency, that is Bitcoin.
In this video I discuss some of the differences between the two chains and where the alpha might reside. We are seeing Hive going in many different directions at one time. All of this could lead to a massive push in a few year.

People can start using IPFS to upload their media content like audio and link it directly into their post using HTML tags. I have never tried video that way, but I might have to try one day.
Hive had the major advantage of the human readable addresses. Business can use this to easily accept payment vs worrying with trying to have people using these convoluted crypto addresses.
Hopefully not for long. Bitcoin (BTC) is outdated. Many cryptocurrencies are much better than it in multiple aspects. Even (or rather) especially Hive.
For example, as @thelogicaldude wrote, "Hive had the major advantage of the human readable addresses".
And the fast and free transactions are also huge advantages.
Bitcoin will never become obsolete. There is Bitcoin and there is Crypto. Just as the SEC's Gary Gensler has said, Bitcoin is a commodity all other coins are securities.
Saying something like this is short-sighted. It will over time. With the technology constantly improving, all cryptocurrencies will become obsolete over time, and there will be something better, something new, something that we currently do not even think about. Something that does not exists yet.
Read the "Bitcoin Standard" and you will understand. The world will completely change because of Bitcoin.
No, saying the opposite is short sighted.
Why do you assume all will be obsolete and not just change and upgrade with the technology? Many cryptos indeed will die. Bitcoin not in our lifetimes that’s for certain.
I forgot I’m the Fed so I changed my mind.

Truth
BTC Outdated, this is simply not true. Respectfully call me when it looses its top spot. The network effect can’t be beat. Hive is amazing but it’s just two totally different things.
Even though Hive and Lightning are similar in terms of payments, Bitcoin still has its secure Layer 1 on which everything is based. No state in the world can muster the energy to attack this layer. To me, all coins that work with PoS are shitcoins. Hive is for me one of the few exceptions besides Bitcoin, but I already see the danger that something similar will happen here as with STEEM.
Exactly correct. If it’s 51% attacked which I find impossible currently it has no bigger crypto to jump into to get funds out. I respect the opposite opinions here as I know for example @xplosive is a important and positive account. I just couldn’t disagree more personally.
Personally, I think Lightning is the worst thing that ever happened to BitCoin, but that's me.
Meanwhile, there's no reason to believe that a market that praises SOLANA and SHIB will ever turn its brains on and start to invest smarter. We should continue to put out value until the tide breaks, that's all that matters.
The worst thing ever happened to Bitcoin (BTC) is that it was the first and still the most popular cryptocurrency. Nowadays there are much better alternatives to it.
People like Shib and Dogecoin, because they like jokes, memes and funny, entertaining things in general. But I do not know why they like Solana. Nowadays Solana is around $44 USD, but the community at CoinMarketCap predicts that it will reach $250 USD by the end of the next month (August). So it is visible that many people are very crazy about it. But who knows why. It is very far from the best blockchain.
They all sit in Zurich, they all are friends who migrated there from California to launch the "Blockchain", it's as decentralized as the pissoirs in a public toilette
They literally stop and run the chain coordinated for maintenance!? Frontrunning ain't even a problem for them, because the whole chain is frontrunning all the time and no funds are safe.
It's a decentralized data system, but it's not what I understand of a Blockchain - way too close to a classic Cloud Database.
How often do you buy Hive and how important is its price when you do the buying? I mean do you place buy orders with a particular price or just hit buy at the existing rate?
I know I wasn’t asked but my opinion I’d buy after these pumps retreat 30% or so. Example instead of buying yesterday I waited to buy at .61 cents not when I saw .88 cents or so.
0.56 now, I have my buy orders set starting with 0.51 down to 0.39, automatic DCA I should call it 😁
Hive on top! ;)
#Hive has many open projects which are great as well as communities with systems and life of their own
Hive is definitely not as well known but I do think it has it's own advantages. We can have one account and it can be used everywhere. There aren't many fees because RCs recover over time.
