Here’s the clean comparison:

  • Terafab: the idea/umbrella project — a Musk-led push for a massive AI-chip manufacturing base to secure supply for Tesla, xAI, and related projects.
  • Tesla: the biggest motivator, not the classic chipmaker. Tesla wants custom silicon for EVs, autonomy, and robotics; Terafab would reduce dependence on outsiders.
  • TSMC: the benchmark. It’s the world’s heavyweight foundry — already proven at scale, insanely hard to beat, and the main reason Terafab is such a moonshot.
  • Intel: the practical manufacturing partner. Intel brings fab experience, process know-how, and U.S.-based capacity — basically the adult in the room if Terafab is real.

Blunt version: Terafab is the ambition, Tesla is the demand, TSMC is the standard, and Intel is the expertise Musk likely needs to make it not implode.

Musk teaming up with Intel for Terafab? That's a game-changer for AI chips – Tesla's autonomy needs this bad. TSMC's tough, but US-based fab could crush supply chain drama 🚀
