The oil companies were surprised by tech but do not think they are going anywhere. All the stuff you hear and read about the demise of oil, what are you viewing it on? Computers, phones, and televisions as well as much around us is still petroleum based.
A 1%-2% move into electric cars and some shift to renewable energy which still requires the purchase of fossil fuels is not really making a dent in that.

I'm not saying the oil companies are done but at least we are making progress towards electrification and sustainable energy sources
