Yea more decentralization is better. The problem is how much is enough because not everything is under our control. If a earthquake or some other natural disaster hits half the world, I doubt any network would be safe.

That is easily answered with nodes on satellites. We are already starting to see that.
Eventually the Internet will be interplanetary (or body) as the moon and Mars see nodes. Even if we dont get people there, we can establish it as a communications base.

True Elon Musk is pushing for those satellite internet connections. If they get good enough, maybe we can get some cheaper internet and put pressure on those cable companies.

Starlink is looking good. I got an invite, but have some tall buildings nearby. It is really helping people in the boondocks out though, it's really fast.

Between Starlink (and whatever Bezos is doing) plus the rollout of 5G, I am led to believe that there will be pressure on cable companies to be more competitive.
This is especially true since many people are cutting the cord anyway and going with just internet and some subscriptions.
The entire model is changing and I dont think the cable companies are going to be able to adapt.

I wish someone dumb downed the running of nodes here on Hive too so that more and more people can run nodes and make Hive more decentralized.

There are really enough nodes running on Hive. Sure more could help but we have near 100 nodes running. That is more than enough.
The problem is the token distribution keeps the nodes in the hands of the same people. This is where HP is required to change the governance "team".

I think while more witnesses is not a bad thing, we need to have better witnesses. My sense is many are not committed to Hive as the rest of us are. For this reason we need to get witnesses like Leoinance in the top 20. Then we can start working on others.

I totally agree . With so much of cool projects by LeoFinance , it is not yet on top 20 - clearly tells something is wrong with the existing setup.

Yeah the token distribution severely favors the early people. In spite of accusations of dumping the token, they still hold a ton of it.
So it is up to the rest of us to increase the amount of HP we are holding.
