I also like the inability to drop links in the top line thread. Keep it at the second layer. Makes things cleaner, deters spam, and link droppers will have to create two threads then.

I 100% agree. I've even been giving thought to not doing the $LEO POWER threshhold we thought of before because the feed is just cleaner without links
I'll probably run a poll later on to see if we should reconsider that
I think it is a good idea. That only attracts spammers. Anyone who wants to link a comment can do so. It isnt that difficult.
The one exception, if technically possible, allow threads to be linked in the top line.
Double comments to add a little "proof of work" with the "proof of brain".
