This is pretty mind blowing. Here is a video of what Kroger just set up in Ohio and what they are building outside Orlando. The bill for each of these warehouses: $50 million apiece.

It partnered with this UK company that is already operating.

A 6 minute video. Tell me the world is not changing rapidly after watching this.

One other point: how long until the human picking station is replaced by the robot. It is already there, presumably getting better each day. At some point, those employed to do the packaging will be automated out.

Well it is good news for immigrants. They won't get blamed for taking people's jobs, the robots will get blamed!

Yea it sure seems that way. The network load when someone changes an order seems to be the biggest bottle neck. It needs to recompute how to do the rest of the steps.

Well it is doing millions of calculations per second so I have a feeling the load is not that great.

Either way, that will diminish as more computation is thrown at the system as it grows over time.

We are getting into some serious automation now.

Yea and add on a few more nodes in the cloud so it can do everything in parallel. You got a massive network prime for doing all the computation

I am sure they can scale something like that quickly. The robotics are the big challenge. I think the AI and computation can move a lot quicker.
