It is crucial. I just wrote an article about the data feedback loop that happens even when we use a chatbot.

Time to start changing that.

• Data is used to train big tech AI (LLMs)
• People use the chatbots to generate answers which is more data, resident on Big Tech servers
• Data from chatbots is used to train new iterations of LLMs

With data being locked down, only big companies can afford to buy (or steal) it. That is why decentralized, permissionless databases are so important.

Well it provides a clear alternative in my opinion. The challenge is 99.9999% of the people do all they can to keep feeding Big Tech...even those supposedly in Web 3.0.

I would agree. That is the point. If one is on the other social media sites, those servers are being fed. And guess who has access to them? Nobody.
