I think I know what you mean. Interestingly enough, I think I've seen more spam after the thread-battle weekend... would've imagined it'd be the other way around.
We need better filtering systems. Social media is always going to have nonsense. I dont care about people posting the inane, just dont want fools using the tags. Post a pick of your big toe, I can scroll passed it.
That has always been the case, many hivians have come to threads and told me, Threads is not for them, but now the UI is getting much better, we really need to make Threads a great place to be.
Engagement is key. People will not engage unless there is stuff that interests them. Looking at the trending, most from the outside wont even understand it.

High-quality engagement / replying can drown out the spam
I think if we can build more engagement consistently like we saw this past weekend, we could drown out the garbage noise
That's a really good point, I think you're right. Didn't think about it from that perspective!
Need to drown it again. 😊
During the thread battle there were people engaging. Okay it was to increase their number but they were conversing.
Since that ended, the numbers went down and people are not interacting. Left with the throw up my post link.
yeah I told there we´d see a lot of spam, specially with the zealy campaign going on.
