Damn... should have commented here... how NVIDIA is making my life much better and WAY more complicated... "pricy" wise....

Hard to understand how these were confidential 🤣

Bandwidth appears to be the same an energy...continually sucking more.

There are some inventions from "last year" that would improve power consumption on 6 orders of magnitude, but still only do under 1 meter transfers... around 800-1,6kTb things... per frequency. So, multimode fibers of that, 16x that.. for a few meters... things... (maybe 10 meters)

km stuff... single mode will make a huge difference at these power consumptions. Nothing comparable to "home computers" but still very promising compared with what the industry has.

I saw that thread. I wanted to ask you to share it here. But you can rethread in here you know

are you a 5G network user

I dont do enough on my phone to even pay attention.

The true test will be in the home internet.

OpenAI's Newest AI Humanoid Robot - Figure 02 - Just Stunned the Robotics World!

#technology #ai

There is a major race taking place. We will see how this progresses over the next year.

I can't wait until I have my own robot hehehehe...

You will be waiting a while. Personal robots are some time out is my guess.

Man of little faith...

Soon we will have domestic robots.

@coyotelation Do you see what is being built here?

The combo of #ai, processing, and #crypto is powerful.

AI is truly a powerful complement.

I'm quite excited.

We will see how fast things progress. Time is ticking away. Have to get started on building the stuff.

You are right and the interesting thing is that we are experiencing all of this.

@coyotelation

Do you ever check out a16z.

They have some good stuff on their website.

I will read more about this. Did not know.

Thanks!

How the theft of 40M UK voter register records was entirely preventable

A scathing rebuke by the U.K. data protection watchdog reveals what led to the compromise of tens of millions of U.K. voters' information.

A cyberattack on the U.K. Electoral Commission that resulted in the data breach of voter register records on 40 million people was entirely preventable had the organization used basic security measures, according to the findings from a damning report by the U.K.’s data protection watchdog published this week.

Pharma giant Cencora is alerting millions about its data breach

The pharma giant won't say how many patients were affected by its February data breach. A count by TechCrunch confirms that over a million people are affected.

Cencora has so far notified over a million people around the U.S. that their personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach earlier this year, TechCrunch has found.

The pharmaceutical giant in May said that a February incident resulted in the compromise of patients’ data, which Cencora obtained through partnerships with drug makers it works with in connection with its patient support programs. Some of those drug makers include AbbVie, Bayer, Pfizer and Regeneron.

Acquiring AI talent wholesale

Welcome to Startups Weekly — your weekly recap of everything you can’t miss from the world of startups.

With the IPO market pretty much dead, we can’t help but track what’s going on with the other kind of exit: mergers and acquisitions. Even though they are not always the outcomes founders or investors were hoping for, we surely are hearing of more startups selling themselves.

Adept Materials' dehumidifying paint was inspired by trees and semiconductors

The startup developed a two-material system that helps homes self-regulate their internal humidity.

The steam that condenses on your bathroom mirror may not seem like a big deal, but for architects and builders, it can be an enormous headache.

“Moisture control is something that is a major pain point,” Derek Stein, founder and CEO of Adept Materials. “If you just google your favorite home builders’ name and then ‘lawsuit,’ you’ll see lots of examples.”

Yelp's lack of transparency around API charges angers developers

When the developers replied to the July 19 email, Yelp sent a deck of pricing tiers with base pricing starting from $229 per month for a limit of 1,000 API calls per day.

On July 19, Yelp informed select indie developers that they would have to switch to paid accounts, due to high API usage. Developers were given four days to make the change, in a move that echoes recent communication bungles by Reddit and Twitter.

Cloud infrastructure revenue approached $80 billion this quarter

The cloud infrastructure market has put the doldrums of 2023 firmly behind it with another big quarter. Revenue continues to grow at a brisk pace, fueled by interest in AI. Synergy Research reports revenue totaled $79 billion for the quarter, up $14.1 billion or 22% from last year.

This marked the third consecutive quarter that year-over-year growth was 20% or more and AI was a big part of that growth, according to Synergy.

Consider how we are going to have to change our metrics due to #Technology.

Will we use electricity as the unit of measure. A joule instead of a dollar.

I never got 5G! LOL I don't see any difference from 4G LOL

Consider that #ai total compute, doubles every 6 months. That is a 64x in 3 years.

Just think about that for a second.

What is the key to Leo success?

If compute is currency that drives value, we can see how the expansion simple will expand things.

Consider the three components that factor into economic growth:

  • technology
  • debt
  • population growth

Think about what robotics and #ai do in this scenario.

Well, let's see... with robots that can do a lot of our jobs, and assuming that it doesn't create new human jobs.

Population will rise... more time to make babies

Personal debt would grow too, unless there's universal income and people learn to manage their funds

National debts COULD be erased through taxing the robots?

I dont think it will happen like that.

It will all revolve around processing and compute. To me, #web3 is the solution due to the fact it is a way to not only help offset the potential threat of #ai but also allows people to own pieces of the networks they are on.

After all, what if you had $50K in $LEO as an example. Consider what that could be leveraged for.

There's still a lack in financial education... if people don't know how to leverage value, what are they going to do with 50k in $LEO

I'm with you on owning a piece of the network for

They need to get educated.

Sorry but in this era of the Internet they have no choice but to learn. In the past, information was hidden from us but no longer.

true true... there is jo excuse today

Information is available for those who want it. Hell, someone can "talk" to a chatbot about any financial information and it will get a good overview. I would not trust the specifics but as a general learning tool, one could ask it like a teacher.

Not available in my country.

How boring... it's about the robot battle videos.

LOL they arent exciting?

Don't get me wrong, I said it's annoying that you can't see it. LOL

I think it's incredible hahaha...

I could fill up on these videos on the #technology threadcast, but now I'm confused, because in some places it's not possible to view them.
