I think that is the direction humanity is moving towards. The idea of grinding out 40, 50-, 60 hours just to pay your bills and for sustenance is insane.

In a sense that wasn't a problem in the beginning, you had a job, a purpose and that's what you did: surviving. I'm talking at least pre-office jobs, right now a lot of people are trapped in shit-jobs for a paycheck and in the future many will be jobless.
Finding purpose will become very important at that point, it's a human need.
