With this status, Baker Hughes will look into developing utility-scale geothermal power plants capable of delivering consistent electricity to military locations, even during grid disruptions.

Ajit Menon, Vice President of Geothermal at Baker Hughes, explained the importance of geothermal energy in ensuring a stable power supply, saying, “Geothermal can provide reliable, secure baseload power.”
The U.S. Geological Survey estimates that the Western United States contains approximately 500,000 megawatts of potentially recoverable Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) resources.
