The GCP operates a global network of approximately 60–70 RNGs, referred to as "eggs," located in host sites across continents, from Alaska to Fiji. These devices, based on quantum tunneling or thermal noise, generate random bits (0s or 1s) at a rate of 200 bits per second, with data collected continuously and synchronized via custom software. The data are transmitted to a central server at Princeton University for archiving and analysis.
