Odenkirk pursued higher education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he began to hone his skills in the arts. While attending college, he worked as a DJ for the school’s radio station, WIDB. However, his passion for comedy drove him to leave university just three credits short of graduation. He relocated to Chicago, diving head-first into the local improv scene and participating in open-mic stand-up comedy, which allowed him to develop his unique style and establish invaluable connections in the industry. This foundational experience set the stage for his successful career in television and film.
