Witkoff, a few weeks ago, said that Iran would be allowed to enrich uranium at 3.67 percent (the Obama deal limit), but more recently he has said that the U.S. “red line” was that Iran would not be permitted any enrichment. Iran, for its part, has said it would never accept that limitation. With Trump so eager for a deal, it’s fair to be concerned that the U.S. will let this red line shift.
