I mentioned a video that was posted by CNBC discussing the Gigapress manufacturing concept and how EV makers are betting on it.
The problem is Tesla started using these back in 2018.

In this one I discuss how Tesla is already integrating part of their next manufacturing process into its upcoming model. This is not a full clean sheet design since it is using the existing line structure but will be incorporate in the future as a new process

I think this is a normal scenario in different manufacturing industries. I'm guessing the delay in adoption and use of the new practices is because of ongoing or lined up products that still make use of the old methods. This is why competition is good. It drives innovation and it can push each other to be better.
