Tesla decided it is time to pick up far greater market share. If there is a coming recession, we are at the point where market share becomes important. This is common with disruptive companies.
In this video I discuss how the company just lowered prices in the US. If this follows what happened in China, where there were 30,000 orders in 3 days, this will be a major disruption to the auto industry. As always the challenge for Tesla is production.
Can they push out 2.5 million vehicles this year?

surely they will deliver close to 2.5 if not the full order
I wonder if there will be a point at which the government will get involved to help out the legacy automakers. After all, I know that Tesla doesn't rub politicians in a good way if it destroys those companies. A lot of people get jobs from there and I doubt they want a huge issue to happen. Or will they just take away EV credits from anyone buying a Tesla?

I am sure the USG will bail our Ford and GM if they enter bankruptcy.
