The fact that Google knows exactly what we want tends to help us, but it also tends to hinder us when it makes totally random recommendations.

I recently added DuckDuckGo for search, and while I am not yet sure I like it better there is an unmistakable difference between search with the algorithms and without.

Currently I use both side by side. I tend to rely on Google when I need technical reference material. But I try to stick to purely my own searches for news and entertainment.
