Getting Ahead of the COVID-19 Pandemic as a Landlord

COVID-19 has sparked change throughout the world. With that, the way we do our business has changed as well. We have compiled a list of 5 ways you can get ahead during the pandemic.

1. Take better photos

Since most of your potential tenants will be viewing your listing online, better photos are a must. If you need to invest in a better camera or a photographer, we recommend doing so. By taking better photos your property will stand out and in return will be noticed more.

On top of that, with better photos means more business. By having detailed and quality photos of your listing, your property may look much more attractive online.

2. Take videos

The pandemic has forced the world to go digital almost overnight. With that, you need to jump on the bandwagon in order to stay ahead. Taking a video walkthrough is not only recommended but should be required because of the way business has shifted due to COVID-19.

With that, be sure to take good quality videos that provide a lot of information about your listing. This will give potential tenants a chance to see the property better without having to come see it in person.

3. Make your property descriptions detailed

When posting property for rent, make sure to include every detail possible to help a potential tenant understand the property better. Be sure to include details about the property colors, measurements, and any other information in extreme detail.

4. Location Information

When listing a property, be sure to include information in detail about the location. Due to the pandemic, many potential tenants are not able to leave the house or feel comfortable doing so in order to check out the surrounding area.

This is also helpful for distant tenants that do not live nearby that maybe interested. If there is a downtown area nearby with many restaurants and stores, include that.

5. Make virtual tours available

While each and every landlord is fighting for a tenant, having the option for a virtual tour may be the reason your property gets filled. The pandemic has required people to stay home, but many would still like to see a property, especially in the comfort of their current home. This will also be helpful for potential out-of-state tenants. With that, making sure you set up a video call service will make it much easier for a tenant to see the property live.
