Wow, talk about a blood bath! Things have been a little ugly in the world of cryptocurrency over the last twenty-four hours. That flash crash came out of nowhere and I think blind sided most of us. Hive was even down to the nine cent range briefly, talk about a buying opportunity. On some exchanges it even dipped to three cents! Unfortunately, I wasn't online when it happened. The story of my life!
It's a new day now and I expect things will slowly begin to recover. Anyone who says cryptocurrency is boring must be living inside of a Xanax bottle. Here we can see that Bitcoin dropped to $105K before recovering somewhat. The good news is it's still above $100K, had it dipped lower and stayed put, things could have gotten really interesting. And definitely not in a good way...

I expect we'll be back to testing new highs again within a few weeks, that's why I love crypto! Never a dull moment!
Hive's chart shows a nice recovery up to fourteen cents, but down more than twenty percent on the day. Most other alt coins are down around ten percent, so we seem to have taken a larger hit than most.
Now the question is: Will we be able to recover to eighteen cents as BTC goes back up or will we stay sub fifteen? Hive hasn't been recovering well each time there is a crash which is concerning. I know many of you are very worried by the situation and rightly so. Hive needs to show some strength and recover when BTC does or it will continue to diminish in value.
Moving on, as this is my Saturday post, it's my weekly #saturdaysavers . I joined the community over a year ago to help me focus my goals on Hive and it really has made a difference. Usually I try to look at some more second layer tokens in this section, but with Hive Engine being down for the last day, it makes it much harder. I'll cover a few of my regulars, but much less than I normally might.
Hive Power
This year I set a goal to reach 10,000 HP which I though was a very reasonable goal. It turned out to be a little too easy and I finished it up sometime back. I set a new one to reach 13,000 HP, and I currently have 11,463 HP. That up 168 HP on the week, which is pretty good for me. Now for some math, there are 12 weeks left in the year and I need to increase my HP by 1,537. That means I need to earn 128 Hive weekly, down from 131 Hive weekly from last week. I seem to be a bit ahead of schedule which is good news! With any luck I'll finish up a little early on this goal as well.

PIMP
As part of Saturday Savers you set not only a primary goal, but also a secondary one. My secondary one was to reach 50,000 staked PIMP tokens. I was able to do this sometime back when the price was right, and have exceeded it significantly. No new goal here, just continuing to earn more PIMP from posting, tips, and liquidity pools.

PIMP is a project with a great community and is backed by physical assets in the form of silver bars. Additionally it's backed by BTC holding as well, ensuring that the token has value even if Hive were to fail!
AEGIS
This is a new project from @enginewitty , rather than having dividends, tips, or posting rewards it only has liquidity pool rewards. I bought into this pretty much on day one, and the APR was over 300% at that point. It's down to about 180% in the liquidity pool right now, but still not too shabby! Every day I receive some more AEGIS as LP rewards and put it back into the AEGIS/SWAP.HIVE LP and watch it grow...
DUO
Okay, I know I share this weekly but since I helped found the project with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools , I can't help myself. There are very rich rewards for investing and staking the token. Those who stake more than 200 can receive daily liquid Hive dividends and a possible curation on their quality posts. Curation can never be guaranteed of course if the post isn't original or done by AI. You can also offer tips of DUO on great posts once you stake more than 500 DUO, which is a nice perk.
My goal was to rack up 2,000 this year and I'm far past that and plan to continue to buy more!

I admit it, I'm a Superman fan, so let's kick off with something cool!

Silver and gold have weathered yesterday's storm much better. Not only that they have outperformed most sectors in gains all year long, and with the world's economic uncertainties it not likely to go down any time soon. Long term they are a safe place to invest and build your personal wealth. I've been investing in them since I was young and very grateful that I picked up the habit early. But it's never too late to start!

Precious metals are essential investment as part of any portfolio. Even if you don't have a lot of free cash, whenever you have a few extra dollars pick up a silver coin. If you do it consistently over the next ten years you will be amazed and just how much you will manage to amass! But that first step is to just start. I missed the 10 cent handle on Hive to buy in on the cheaper. It's why I maintain a small balance of HBDs to take advantage of huge drops. Oh well, My PM stacks are in no worse for wear. The fundamentals haven't changed.

Thank you! I've worked hard to get this far, it wasn't easy! Gold and silver will likely keep going up since the world is in such bad shape. It's kind of scary to be honest! We shall see where things end up, hopefully tomorrow won't be another bloodbath for crypto!
