Zach is a fantastic asset to the space, but IMHO this take is wrong.
Self-custody isn't "nice to have" or "maybe too much of a pain for normal users"
It's the basic precondition for crypto: no self-custody, then crypto is useless.
This is why THORChain, Maya Protocol, etc. matter so much: they're true crypto exchanges. CEXes are neo-banks: we should expect to obsolete them over time.
Branding permissionlessness as "only for criminals" is very harmful to the space.
