In 2015 I really wanted to get paid in crypto, but had no idea how to do that.

Well it wasn't no crypto. For the two years prior I had been using and earning it wherever I could, but I still largely earned and spent fiat.
In other words, your fiat turns into crypto for spending and you are earning from crypto jobs basically.
No I never bought crypto. I earn it directly.
