Personal Observations.
I don't think Hive is a community. There might be some communities that formed on Hive. The majority of which are small communities. The Biggest and most powerful community is among the witness.
I am not against any witness. If a time comes I find a thought and feel it might offer some benefits to any of them, I share it with them. Liking or disliking them personally has nothing to do with the best interests of the blockchain. Ultimately I also do not know the thoughts that flow through their brain. To draw any conclusion of anyone we meet (especially online) is only going to lead to heart break of some kind. We all place our best foot forward when meeting another. (Okay all = the majority of us are socially educated on behaviour in common places.) None of us are only the angel or divel we display when we first meet another.
Just because you are a top witness you know code, Is not a valid reason for me to take you at your word that you know how any change made will effect the rest of the people on the chain. To show flaws in the systems or codes you implement, is never seen as constructive and always hit back hard at, in many cases with slurs and name calling.
Many a time there has been a case I was told I do not understand. Only to explain what the other was saying to show I did understand what they were saying, It turned out to be. They did not understand what I was saying and only when they looked from an alternative perspective was understanding gained.
Alas the things I would like to do are massive projects that would need to run for infinity, or at least until we stop measuring time. Even then continue to run after.
Does it even make sense to not want the money but want what the money can do?
I think there is some money that no one should be able to own.
Satoshi Nakamoto probably had the same thought. What if no one could control all of the money. He provided a tool to make that happen too. Yet we still rely on the paper money. Dollars that make no sense.
That is the same reason everyone is here for the dollars. You cannot use Hive to any great extent. People will turn it to FIAT, the currency of their choice. Currency, that the key word there. If an alternative currency is not being made. What are we trying to achieve?
I wonder how many of the top witness would remain sometimes. If the value of Hive was less than a penny. If everyone wanted to sell their HBD, would the same witness remain for no financial return? If you come tell me you are not about the money, Then I say Actions on those words would show more truth. The rewards you get from running a node, put that toward a project to create an alternative currency to the currency system we rely too heavily on today.
But sure tying to make that happen alone is a torturous task. But if someone doesn't try. That it is left to me is probably the biggest joke of Hive. Everything needed is there. Too much division on personal projects for something else to be done.
To anything that is organised. There is a support means. Where do you contact support for Hive? This is something we should be able to pay for by now through alternative means. There's a whole world out there to integrate and interact with. We limit ourselves to only code. Abstract thought or any thought with a change in it is ignored. These things only benefit the security of the chain though. They do not secure a position of power. It would not give any additional benefits to anyone else over another on the chain.
Not much in that for the individual at a glance. There could be better rewards though (in my idealistic mind) if the value of HIVE grew through a natural manner. An essential need there to create HBD as a currency for that effect to happen and sustain itself.
The biggest issue HIVE/HBD more so HBD maybe, is that there is not enough of it, Maybe that mean we need a heap more Hive too. Or maybe the less Hive the higher the value. Somewhere in the middle I think is the best balance.
The longer nothing is done, the harder it can become.
If you look at the arena out there for blockchains. You have two sorts, ledgers and tokens. Hive has both. It is also sold as both at the same time. If selling a something service or other. The only reason to mention Hive is to have a Hive logo imbedded in you idea. Maybe say, Run's on the Hive Blockchain. Maybe establish some kind of Hive standard. Only dapps or projects that reach a certain standard of working get issued with a Hive Approval NFT.
Thoroughly vet those projects and dapps to ensure we build a positive interaction with a wider community. Why do we restrict the wider community to merely online people. Why do we sit here waiting for some magic finance to come along and do it. Then what happens with them having so much HP. Do they become a dictator? Can we do anything to stop that? If we try, doesn't that do away with POS?
Ah, I go down a whole new rabbit hole if I keep going. There is only one line of thinking that goes on. Anything alternative is isolated. Yet no firm foundational structure is laid out. No who to go to for answers.
Control the code control the world and finance it works within. I think that is the direction things will go in. A transparent code with hidden agenda's. I mean this in general terms not about the Hive chain. We can draw similarities with many things that have nothing to do with each other, Maybe!
