Found audio of a twenty-year-old interview with AMD founder Jerry Sanders. Might be published — such a character

Sort:

I was worth a million and a half dollars the day that AMD went public.
Wasn't much by today's standards, but I told my wife, we were rich.
She said, well, I don't feel rich.

So I drove her into San Francisco and I bought her a Jaguar and a fur coat and probably something else, but those are the two I remember the most.
And she said, stop. I'm getting nervous. I love that. Stop. I'm getting nervous.

I'm really glad I did it because the stock plummeted from $15.50, which is what it was when we went public, down to less than $2.
And I didn't feel too rich then. But that's another part of the story
