I have been watching a K-drama series on Netflix titled 'Queen of Tears’ I didn’t think will end up enjoying and even learning one or two life lessons from the movie especially since I started watching so that could take my mind off some things and it didn't look that interesting at first.
Before I talk about what I have learnt so far, let me give a synopsis of the movie. It’s basically about a girl Hae-in and her husband let’s call him wu. Among many other things going on in Hae-in’s rich family, Hae-in finds out she has a terminal illness and has only three months to live. Her husband goes all out to help her despite the tension between them; he finally gets someone willing to try a surgery on her brain tumor but there's a risk of memory loss after the surgery.
Hae-in refuses surgery because according to her, her memories are what define her, and losing them will make life useless. She will rather die than live that life. I know its a bit exaggerated, but that was where I stopped last night.

I asked my husband before I slept if he will accept a $100,000,000 with the condition that he loses his memory completely, he will not remember if he has a family or not, his response was: "what then will I use the money for?" It then hit me that many of us need money to show love, to prove something to someone and most times it is not even out of selfish ambition.
For some others, their ambition was sparked by something a long time ago, imagine wanting to own a grocery store so much, or a fashion brand of your own, but when you have the money to have all that, you can not remember why you needed the money in the first place.
It might not be exactly like this, but there is always something we give up every day in pursuit for financial gain. We leave loved ones and spend valuable time away just to make enough to keep ourselves and the people we love happy. When I was growing up, my neighbors were a very rich family; the children had it all and never really lacked a thing. However, their parents were never around.
Meanwhile, I on the other hand had my parents available but we were not as rich. my neighbors turned out well, so don't think their parents being unavailable had a negative impact on them, they all have good paying jobs too. If you really want something, you must pay the price for it. Sometimes it is depriving yourself somethings for a while because of the goal you want to achieve. Working extra hours, doing some side hustles, using the bus to save up the fuel money. Just how far can we go for some extra digits in our wallets.
I am going to keep watching today to find out how things go in the movie, even though I have a strong feeling that she will get the surgery, death is the greater evil here. I don't know why I compared this situation with money, but I have learnt that there is a price for a lot of things, including money.
