With all the FUD out there right now
... Splinterlands is just pushing along without much fuzz. Price is essentially frozen at like 0.7 cents which is not great, but goes to show that it's at least not so heavy manipulated like everything else. It is doing especially well in the bigger crashes we have had and shows to me that there isn't any real big selling pressure. It's what you'd expect when people are actually more interested in playing the game and building, rather than only caring about their portfolio.
I have stopped playing Splinterlands over a year ago and was last invested in land. The main reason for taking a step back was simply due to time management and interest. While the game is somewhat fun, it is still quite repetitive and takes around an hour when actively playing. I also noticed that I still tried to maximize my returns which just doesn't feel right when playing. Nevertheless, I still have a small (big?) stake in SPS since I am still a believer in the game. It is honestly the best project in crypto gaming and I definitely think much more is still to come.
SPS
The chart is actually looking better than Hive as there is some support and a general upward trend since last year. Although price has now essentially stayed the same for over a year. The main resistance is the descending trend line that has not budged an inch since spring this year. With the blue support at almost the same level, price is stuck in a wedge. This tells me that we should expect a pretty volatile period in the coming weeks - in either direction.
Outlook
A new mini set is coming in December I believe and I think it will sell for SPS at a fixed value. If I am not mistaken, the value of the packs are priced at around 1.5 cents per SPS, so SPS should eventually rise to that level (more than double) in the coming weeks. This might be a good time to buy SPS and get almost a guaranteed return on it. Overall, it seems that the game is going into the right direction with many different things coming together in the foreseeable future. It has also been nice to see how the game has in general just improved by a lot - the team really does deliver on (most) of their promises.
In the most bullish case, I could see this potential scenario unfolding. With the mini set as a catalyst and a favorable macro environment. If we are actually not having a good Q4, it's going to be pretty bleak with price probably dropping towards the 0.2-0.4 cent area... Yeah, not looking forward to that. So I am just sticking with the Hopium for now.
