LEO Staked Based Curation On Hold

in LeoFinance11 months ago

Not sure if this warrants a blog post

But I feel after the whole marketing hype around the new launch of @leofinance I should give a feedback for one of the main bullet points: staked based curation.

First, the team has done a great job in launching the new site as well as implementing major updates for it so soon. Threads is doing really great and it's really good to finally have short form content on Hive. That is, we did actually have it with @dbuzz before; but it wasn't that much used. That actually opens up a whole new question (which I do not want to dive into here): why hasn't dbuzz seen more activity?

Anyway, one of the things that got me excited with the revamp was the staked based curation. Depending on the tier, you will be eligible for upvotes from @leo.voter:

The current Pride ranks are:

Kitten | 1,000
Newborn Cub | 2,000
Cub | 5,000
Lion | 15,000
Leader of the Pack | 50,000
Apex Lion | 150,000

Depending on the tier you are in, the team will consider voting on your posts starting with 2 submissions for "Kittens" and 10 for "Apex Lions".

So far so good... The only problem is that it has not been working very well since the start: most users cannot make a reply to the curation threads on @leogrowth. @anomadsoul told me that there is no whitelist as well so it appears to be a technical issue. But for some reason people cannot comment on @leogrowth threads, although threading to other threads doesn't seem to be a problem.

Not sure why this is taking so long to get fixed since it cannot really be a big issue. It's also unclear why some can comment on the thread while others cannot. It is clear though from the comment counts that most do not have this ability. The most recent curation threads only has 4 replies. I would imagine if this worked that it would get dozens, however.

So have you encountered this problem as well? How do you like the new Leofinance UI?

Sort:

I have seen that thread from leogrowth and shared my post link twice or thrice but haven't noticed it went through successfully could be only reason those replies of mine got ignored otherwise had followed required stuff for stake based curation.

I would imagine if this worked that it would get dozens, however.

True, also need some sort of feature to get update on when leogrowth make that thread to make easy for everyone to find it.

users know that dropping a link counts towards their weekly total count, so maybe they only drop the most amazing links and hence, the replies are low

good point, but with only 1 or 2 curation threads and hundreds of users it should be a lot higher

Whenever a new things comes on top of a project, it's great, the way we're seeing it now, we'll see the price go up a lot in the near future.
