CTP can be one of the most valuable tokens on Hive down the road. How much do you know about it?
If you have been around Hive for more than a couple of months, you probably realized that token price is not a very accurate indicator of value, at least not now, and so, when looking for investment opportunities, you shouldn't really be looking at it.
To be fair, if you are a trader, then that strategy is probably good for you. However, if you are a long-term investor, you must look beyond price. You want long-term sustainability and value building so what you really should be looking for is use cases.
Good use cases will generate demand for a given token and, with time, that will end up reflecting on the price. It's hard to predict when or how fast that will happen, but history shows that is the case.
Use cases for CTP
CTP is the native token of the CTP Talk community, a Hive tribe that's primarily focused on affiliate marketing.
The CTP community is very active on the blockchain in many ways. Just look at one of their leaders, @jongolson. He's all over Hive! Jon not only is very active on CTP Talk itself, but he also co-hosts the Cryptomaniacs Podcast and a couple of other shows too. To be honest, I'm less involved in CTP than I'd like to, but I'm trying to do more in that regard as my time allows me.
But there is more to CTP than a close-knit, active community. Holding and staking CTP can be very beneficial to individuals as well.
Other than giving you influence on the community, there are also a couple of other use cases that can be very interesting. One of them is the CTP Swarm Booster, a project that supports the people who have the most CTP staked and who are active in the community by constantly creating posts with the CTP tag. I only recently found out about this project, but I'm already very interested.
Another great - and my personal favourite - use case for CTP is a very recent addition to their suite: ListNerds.
I won't go into the details of ListNerds here because I already have in this post, but it's important to say that CTP plays a significant role in Listnerds because you need it to be able to interact with the platform. In a way, you could say that CTP is to Listnerds what LEO is to LeoFinance.
I believe ListNerds will completely change the way we interact with the blockchain, and so, as more people discover it, the demand for CTP will increase, which will ultimately affect the price as well.
Going forward
I must admit that I don't really know what is in the plans of the CTP crew, but if I had to guess, I would say that we'll see an even better version of ListNerds with more features, more use cases for the LISTNERDS token and definitely a lot more people using it. That alone is enough reason for me to be bullish on CTP and judging by how active they are, I would say there is much more in store for us.
Final thoughts
As with many HIVE tokens, I believe CTP is still significantly undervalued. To me, the use cases it currently has, the loyal community and the team behind it are good indicators that the token has a bright future.

The Click Track Profit web site came online in 2010. It predates STEEM and HIVE.
CTP seems to be some sort game where people make money by sending out emails with affiliate links.
Do you have any experience with the main CTP site beyond the token?

CTP is a training hub and 'marketing school' where we teach our members how to marketing online without being 'a sales pitch'. What we did almost 5 years ago, is focus on building our businesses on the blockchain and introducing our members to the potential of not only crypto...But Hive as a whole.
ListNerds is the 'mailer' but we are trying to rebrand the entire focus of this site into a content discovery tool. And it uses the CTP token as a way to reward senders, receivers and stakers.
I found out about CTP after I joined Hive so I have no previous experience with it. I started using ListNerds, which is their mailer, and I'm loving it!

Yeah CTP has always flown under the radar and rarely gets the press and publicity some other projects do on hive. Which is just the way we live it :)
Because we take a very slow and steady approach, our ideas (from last years timeline / roadmap) aren't always quick to market. But slowly, we're starting to get our vision on chain :)
CTP Talk was step one.
ListNerds is step two.
We've got something big big coming in step 3 lol
Slow and steady has proved to work time and time again :)
Looking forward to seeing what you guys will bring us in step 3!

CTP is also just a recent discovery for me. This token is number 3 in my list. As my time allows, I also intend to write about this token to serve as my personal reference in my CTP journey.
