There is an interesting point made on a ted talk I watched some time ago that the danger of artificial intelligence isn't that it's going to rebel against us, but that it's going to do exactly what we ask it to do.

The energy is a real challenge. Nuclear fusion could be the answer but you know how that is. So close and yet so far
Fusion is always 10 years away. We know that.
