Yep, they should better explain what is the long term vision because the fact that "currently" you cannot withdraw your crypto is against crypto itself so, why we would like to buy crypto with paypal then?

I won't be buying anything from paypal. I can do pretty much the same thing with revolut. That's not crypto for me.

Agree and that is the way to follow. Keep your GOLD with you and let others to discover crypto even if they do so by using paypal.
Once discovered, your friend will come to you asking how to do it
