The craze is on as play-to-earn games emerge almost every week in the crypto-space. From the success of Axie Infinity, many people are searching for new programs that they can join which would not hurt their budget.
My Defi Pet has been one of the trending games that is being hyped in the community and luckily I was able to buy some tokens at a low cost before they hit $5.00 each.
Let's talk about the current experience:
The current gameplay consists of just planting crops that mature on a certain allotted time and harvesting silver from the cage where your pets are in. Each crop planted would generate food and experience and depend on the crops that you had placed. The timetable would range from 1 minute and the longest would be 6 hours per crop. For the cages, when you upgrade it there's also a cooldown that varies for hours or day/s.
The first few weeks of planting crops went fast and I never noticed it as I am planting potatoes that mature every 30 mins.
Everything's going smooth until we experienced a rollback. Our levels were wiped out and all of the food and silver that we had accumulated became zero. We received compensation for the said event but the compensation for me is not enough as the time invested to gain levels is quite long.
Yesterday for the people who are using Binance Blockchain to access the game they launched their first world event.
It got me excited as finally there's something to look forward to and a chance to get some DPET tokens in the game. After waiting for the count down I got an error message that I can't log in anymore which is frustrating.
I waited for hours but still no good results. Some can log in but getting errors and cannot proceed with the game. During the chaos that happened - the game suddenly went on maintenance all of the people in Telegram were not able to send a message and we are left hanging reading the bot's message that they are in undergoing maintenance.
The game went back but still, people are having issues as some of the transactions broadcasted in the system are failed however, their funds are deducted with the BNB fees. As a result of the mishaps, the admin stated that they will compensate again for the said losses.
The support system isn't that good and transparent most of the time. Instead of fixing the issues that the user had, the developers don't have any good correspondence and some of the users feel that they are being ripped off and felt something is shady. Currently, if you had some concerns and will report bugs in the game you will need to submit a google form that doesn't give any leads if the request was accepted or not.
At this point, I am still going to play the game but adding more money to what I had invested is a NO for me. I would rather invest my time reading and writing stuff. The DPET token may rise in the future if the concerns of the community would be addressed but if this continues I guess it would be going down.
Also since I am back in Hive, rather than testing some apps outside the blockchain. I would just stick with what we have in-store. Currently, I have DCROPS which I am somehow invested to
And Cryptobrewmaster on the side since it is free.
I am still searching for games that I would be invested to but I guess for now I will stick on the one's in Hive. After comparing the communities in the blockchain games one thing that I had noticed is Hive folks would still and always been a great community regardless of what app or condenser it is.
