Whatever you do, don't follow any diet that implies drinking acid or sour juices or fruits.

Someone, that did lose weight, told my sister she was doing something like this, drinking tamarind juice in the morning on an empty stomach.

I told my sister to suggest her to stop that, it sounded like a good recipe for an ulcer.

The woman didn't go to work a few days, when she finally went to work my sister told her the suggestion.

Well, she got an ulcer and those days she didn't go to work she was in the Hospital.

So don't do it, fasting is not for everyone, and even less to attack an stomach full of acid with more acid. That was completely avoidable.

Sort:

Oh my. Whoever made her do that to herself. Drinking acidic juice or liquid with an empty stomach is a big no. Thanks for sharing this.

I always believed that no matter the size of our bodies, as long as we are physically healthy and sound, there is no need for dieting or fasting.

Yeah, she was looking for a way to lose weight fast, not to actually be healthy. Those pseudo diets and juices don't work that way. Fasting has it's system, it's not just skip breakfast.

And I imagine she felt pain because of the acid at the times she was hungry, then she added the juice... it must have been really painful before getting hospitalized for an ulcer, those take a little time to become so dangerous

Sadly, she contracted an illness just because she wanted to lose weight. Hope the ulcer can still be treated. Ulcer is a pain in the arse. Mine was a cause of skipping meals when I was younger and then aggravated by stress😅

yep, recipe for severe ulcers and pain

For me intermittent fasting worked. I don't eat anything for 12 hours. 9pm to 9am morning. But do all of this once you cross 30s. Doing fasting, diet and fads don't work. It increases acidity when you re under 30.

I believe it works, under certain circumstances, doing it correctly, I've even seen documentaries about people that do it following ancient customs from certain tribes and are high performance athletes, so it works wonderfully. But that, with a structure.

That info is good to know, not to do it under 30. Metabolism is also faster under 30 and the acidity is very high at the times you are used to eat, a sudden change is not good, and not if you are in pain and you allow it to continue, plus add a lime or tamarind juice to it.

The same with keto diet, it has a way to do it and if not done correctly, you are just eating a bunch of fat.

I don't know what was she thinking, how much pain must have she endured to suddenly be hospitalized because of the ulcer.
