History of Labours' Day

It was May 1886 when around about 40 thousand labourers started protesting for labour rights. The demands are 8 hours of duty per day. At the start the protest was peaceful but on the third day of the protest, an accidental worker's death occurred. This worker was killed by police. On the next day of the protest, an unknown person threw a dynamite bomb which caused the death of 7 police officers and 4 workers. After that, the bomb thrower was not identified but 8 innocent workers were 7 of them were hung and one of them became a prisoner for fifteen years.
This event in history is known as the Haymarket Riot or Haymarket Affair or Haymarket massacre. This event is very important in the history of labour because it united and strengthened the US labour. This event became the symbol of international workers and provided rights to the labourers. On this day the traders and socialist parties called a meeting for workers to give rights to the labourers (Eight hours of duty per day). After that, the first of May is annually celebrated in honour of the labour movements.

Labours rights in Islam

The holy prophet PBHU is a role model for all Muslims. They teach us every aspect of life. Muslims followed his preaches in daily life. Our holy prophet PBHU teaches us the rights of every member of society. They teach us the rights of relatives, neighbours' rights, elders' rights, younger rights, non-muslim rights, labourers rights, and owners' rights etc. The Prophet PHBU not only explains the labour's right in words but they describes it through deeds. In early life, they performed the duty of a shepherd and after that, they showed themselves as good businessmen of the world. He shows honesty, standards and trust in his work.
The holy prophet PBHU encourages the labourers and discourages them from labour. They said that "Worker or doer is a friend of Allah" i.e. Allah loves those who work. In another place, the holy prophet PBUH said:

"You should pay the labourer his wages before his sweat dries".
